Due to your circumstances, you may think you can’t afford to hire an attorney. But the reality in most cases is that if you don’t, it could very well end up costing you more money in the long run. It could result in you losing custody or parenting time with your children, or other negative court rulings that you might have to live with forever because you do not know how to present your issues to the court.
Our Attorney Nicole Schaefer Specializes in Low Cost Family Law Cases
Even if your divorce, dissolution of registered or unregistered domestic partnership or modification of a family law case seems simple and straightforward, it’s best to have an attorney helping you through the process to make sure everything is done correctly. When you call our office to set up an initial consultation, our staff will determine whether you are eligible for our reduced consultation fee and reduced hourly rate for low cost family law cases.
Your case will not qualify for our low cost attorney program if it has one of the following issues in it:
– An interest in a business that will be divided
– Your spouse lives outside the United States
– You are unable to locate your spouse
– There are serious medical or mental health issues for parents or children
– There are complex issues of property ownership
– DHS is involved in the case
– There is an abuse restraining order in the case or domestic violence issues
(This list is not exclusive and other complicating factors may preclude you from qualifying.)
If you believe your case may qualify for our low cost attorney program, please tell our staff when you call in. They will discuss your issues and, if appropriate, schedule a low cost consultation with our attorney Nicole Schaefer.
If, during your consultation with Nicole Schaefer, she also determines that your case qualifies for our low cost program, you may retain Ms. Schaefer to review your options and help chart a course with you for the most favorable outcome of your current situation. Ms. Schaefer will represent you in drafting documents, obtaining documents to prove assets and liabilities, settlement negotiations, preparing you to testify, attending hearings, and the trial should a trial be necessary. Unlike many low cost attorneys, Ms. Schaefer has the full expertise of our very experienced and respected family law attorney Deanna Ballou Jensen, who has over 35 years of experience in family law, to guide and assist Ms. Schaefer if a case becomes more complicated than expected.
